Job Description

The field technician is responsible for on-site installation, checkout & verification of instrumentation and end devices during the installation, startup and commissioning phases of the project.

This position reports to Operations Manager or Field Engineer.

Responsibilities:
All aspects of checkout & startup to include:
• Point-to-point wiring checkout
• Verification of proper installation of instrumentation & end devices
• Field calibration of instrumentation
• Documentation of all check-out activities performed
• Work with field engineers & site manager to complete project on schedule
• Work with subcontractors to verify installation
• Participate in the start up and commissioning of control systems at client facilities

Ideal Candidate:
• Will possess a technical degree (HVAC, MET, EET or equivalent) or equivalent industry experience in instrumentation, electronics, HVAC or telecommunications.
• Hands-on experience with calibration and troubleshooting of industrial and/or commercial instrumentation.
• Will be able to work effectively with minimal oversight.
• Will have a strong technical aptitude.
• Must be able to read P&ID’s, wiring diagrams and other electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Must be able to travel – job is 60-80% out of town work.
• Must work well with others and present themselves in a professional manner with clients, other contractors and within PHS.
